Life with Bess is a modern hand embroidery business based in Brisbane. We focus on teaching people how to embroider and help people to find their inner creative homebody. Our online shop is filled with embroidery pdf patterns, pattern kits, embroidery supplies and starter kits... everything a stitcher will need to get into the world of embroidery. Embroidery is truly the perfect craft for creative homebodies, allowing genuine time to slow down, take stock and feel fulfilled creating art with your own hands.

Method

We had seen Maddy on our Tiktok feed for months, sharing her marketing knowledge and we had started to make some changes from videos she had shared (like moving our email list from flodesk to klaviyo). Come 2023, we knew we needed to take our business to the next level and work on getting more regular sales outside of big launches... we knew where to look. Over the years I'd done a lot of research on marketing and what I needed to be doing, but never knew exactly where to start and it all seemed really overwhelming. So I focused on the areas of marketing that made me feel comfortable and where my strengths lay - and said 'one day' to everything else.

Results

Since working with Maddy and Birdcage Marketing, I am feeling a lot more confident about the strategy of my marketing. Working smarter, not harder. Maddy has worked with me, really listened to what I want my business to be and coached me to think outside of my comfort zone. It has been amazing to be able to ask lots of questions on areas we've never had clear answers to before to do with content strategy, setting up nurture email sequences and starting Meta Ads. Nothing is too small and we got the reassurance that we are on the right track.
